My favorite thing to do? Take a break from studies and frolicking through a field for a quick photoshoot!Study breaks are also well spent looking for new clothes online. At Apparel

The rain stopped and just the right amount of sun was out to play, so I had to seize the moment. Anyways, I got this dress thrifting a few weeks back, and just loved the crochet pattern on it. I have a feeling it will beome a summer staple.

Hope everyone's week is going well !

Summer is approaching

26 April 2009

Oh my I cannot believe it is already Sunday, meaning I only have a week and a half of school left, meaning finals are in one week, meaning I am about to be a crazy-pyshco-stressed-woman. It's so releiving knowing lazy summer days are approaching.

I found this nude silk top while thrifting a week or two ago, and instantly fell in love with it! I wore it over this skirt, transforming it into a dress, but typically I will be wearing it with pants. Next stop: nude heels. I hear they add instant height, which is something I am always in search for! Also, I got this braided headband a few weeks ago as well. I wish it were a little thicker, like the Marc Jacobs Fall 2008 headbands, but oh well. If anyone knows of where I can find a replica, let me know.

Pretty little ladies

23 April 2009

I am constantly in awe of the beauty and style of Audrey Hepburn and Faye Dunaway. I watched one of my favorite films "Funny Face" today, and was reminded of just how much classic styles inspire my wardrobe. As much as I love experimenting with new fashions, I will always naturally be inspired by ladies like these two.

Also, due to a few indecent comments by anonymous cowards on my recent entries, I just want to say that I did not make this blog to try and be some kind of beauty queen or to show off how much money I can spend on clothing. This blog was made as a medium to convey to the world my taste in fashion and my interpretation of style. I am a college student paying for everything on my own. It is impractical spend large amounts of money on clothing, when I could be spending money on bettering my education and my future. If you have a problem with this or my appearance, then this is simply not the blog for you.

UGH today was hot. April and it already feels like 100 degrees. I'm sorry, but there is just nothing about feeling sticky and hot when it is only April! Well I guess I should stop complaining, because it did allow me to have this lovely afternoon with my dearest roommate. And of course I do like seeing the sun, there's nothing better than the feeling I get in when he comes out to play. Maybe if it were acceptable to walk around in a bikini 24/7 I would like the heat. Unless that unexpectedly happens, I apologize for my present complaints, and future complaints. Hah :)

Anyway... this hat was totally and completely inspired by the hat frenzy that is happenin' by The Stylish Wanderer. I feel like hats are the perfect touch to a simple outfit, and are a great way to accessorize when on the go. Plus, sunhats kind of work like sunglasses except they are prettier. And yes, I am just a little obsessed with these acid wash jeans. 9 out of 10 times that I have been wearing pants as of late, these have been them.

PS- The first picture is of my roommate. Isn't she adorable?

Just Had To

Fake white docs at gojane.com just purchased... I just had to do it. I can see myself pairing them with ultra feminine florals and sweet dresses. Typical me. :)

Behold The Biker Short

21 April 2009

Ever since Alexander Wang's pre-fall 2009, I have been lusting after something so simple, and so reminscent of my child hood days. What item could this be? Biker shorts! Oh yes kids, we all remember the days of wearing big t-shirts with splendid spandex biker shorts. Or atleast I do, (I distinctly remember being perpetually fascinated with these bright pink ones as a child). These lace ones are the first pair I've been able to find in stores, but my search will not end until I find nylon or perhaps those bright pink ones I held so dear!

Look out for...

20 April 2009

...Ann Yee! She is an amazing NYC based designer who has a serious eye for style. She has completed her very first collection for fall 2009 (pictured above). With the impressive experience of designing for reputable labels such as Elizabeth and James and Barney's, this designer will be exciting to follow!

I am particularly fond of the color palette used in the collection, which combines solemn grays with pops of deep colors. My favorite thing about this collection is the elegance that each piece channels, which is a quality I look for most in clothing. Check her out here.

take me away pretty day

19 April 2009

I cannot tell you how in love I have been with the weather as of late! Permitting me to wear only a dress? Sometimes only even a light cardi? I am so in love. I am wearing two new things from the aforementioned thrifting trip of a lifetime. My 90's inspired floral dress is actual from Express. I am so curious as to what year it is from because I have not seen something like this at Express ever before. Secondly... are my new treasures, the laceup booties! I have been on an endless search since pretty much the beginning of time. Be prepared for lots of outfits with these babys.

Hope everyone had a good weekend! I had a great one, just hanging out with my guuurl friends. Activities included sing star, going to this new tea room, farmers market and maybe, possibly we saw a Zac Efron movie. I can't help it... the mans got charm!

PS. Corinna featured me on her lovely blog

I have been graced by the presence of the fashion gods today! I went thrifting in this super comfy outfit to three different stores (salvation army & local stores) and found about 10 things for only 18 dollars. Of which include laceup booties, these keds pictured above (I get over excited extremely easily), nude color things, and florals.

And last but not least... take a look at my Halloween costume for next year. So what if I jumped the gun a little... I could not pass this up!

spring flowers

Call me simple, but one of my favorite pieces of clothing is a floral dress. Something about them just always gets my attention, and makes me in a good mood. It was a super great night and it ended with this delicious chocolate cake. Oh and also as promised, here is my military style jacket. that teen vogue shoot inspired me so!

All that glitters is gold

15 April 2009

I found this oversize top thrifting the other day for only 3 bucks! It looks like it's right out of the 80's so obviously I had to buy it, and much like a small child, I am immediatly attracted to things that shine.

Please excuse me for my abscense, tests have most definitely gotten in the way! I have been studying my brains out as of late. Econ test tonight... wish me luck.

And just so you know, I'm on twitter!

So 90's

So I hear the 90's are having a comeback... things I love about the 90's:

1.) grungy plaid

2.) intense floral prints

3.) leather and red lipstick

4.) Nsync

Above is my absolute favorite 'going out' outfit. The floral skirt is so fun, and can be dressed up with a simple pairing of black and heels. Plus, the sheer back of the top adds a night time element.

A bit about me

09 April 2009

I'm feeling very feminine today, and I can't explain it, but I had this urge to put together things in my closet that I never have worn together before. Anyways, I am having the most busy and stressful day ever, but I just wanted to let whomever is concerned know that I will very shortly get back to tags and awards! I really am looking forward to it, I have just been oh so busy.

I will be gone for the weekend, going to visit a friend. Nine hour road trip here we come. It will be a blast :)

Have a lovely weekend!

Mini Bits and Pieces

08 April 2009

Ta-da! Here is my outfit in bits and pieces from head to toe. And once again, I incorporated a bow somewhere. I think I'm going through a phase or something. Anyways, this mini dress is actually a skirt worn extremely high waisted paired with a light-weight cami. My favorite thing is to make skirts and shirts look like dresses. So many endless possibilities.

On a side note, I just want to let my readers know how much I appreciate every single one of you! Your sweet comments always make my day. tfr

Surprise! I straightened my hair for once. I'm quite sure that a like it wavy better, but a change of pace is always nice. Today was a day where I experimented with color. I always feel that the first few days of spring weather should be this way.

My favorite thing about this is the bow I added to my favorite necklace. It's a hairbow but it fitted quite nicely at the end of this tassel necklace. I mean hey, on a shopping ban one has to get creative with old clothing and accesories!

Also, the lovely Rebecca from The Clothes Horse interviewed me through a game of Would you Rather. I'd love if you'd check it out here :)

PS- The internet has convinced me to join twitter. Please add me here!

Soldier Girl

I would be lying if I said this photoshoot from Teen Vogue did not inspire me to pull out this jacket. I absolutely love these military-inspired pieces paired with bright colors and florals. Looks to me like a have some re-creating to do.

Busy Bee

05 April 2009

Oh my! Life has been so busy as of late. Somehow between practicing french and seeing the ying yang twins at a random party ( I know, so weird) I have managed to play around with my new camera. I am absolutely in awe of the flowers in bloom and blossoming trees. Sometime this week I am dedicating time to capture them all.

Above is one of my favorite skirts in front of my favorite building, and below is a little fun I had with my new cam.

Anyways, Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

ATTENITON: I am on twitter! I'm finally just figuring out how it works , so I'd love it if you all would follow me. Add me here.
